In order to reduce noise pollution, we should begin by creating stricter laws that limit construction noise. Construction should not be permitted in early mornings, and should not go beyond acceptable noise levels. The city should also establish noise complaint hotlines so that residents can easily report any violations. Above all else, authorities must be responsive to noise complaints and strictly reinforce the laws, punishing those who violate them with harsh fines. As for traffic noise, the best way to combat this is to perform better urban planning. City planners should put roads farther from residential areas and improve traffic flow. They should also improve public transport so that more people use them as an alternative to private vehicles.
In summary, it is possible to reduce noise levels by controlling construction activities and improving transportation.
